I recently went to Jerome, I had a good time. I wanted to do more exploring but the problem with that is most the abandoned homes weren’t there anymore or now restored with people living inside.

I just want to share some of my favorite pictures from the trip, if you want to see you can see my Jerome pictures on Flickr.

On to the homes, my favorite thing. Surprising I didn’t take a bunch of pictures of the homes, I guess it’s kinda weird taking pictures of homes people live in. Oh well here are some “artistic” shots of some homes.

We also found two amazing abandoned homes. One was for sale, if I had the money I’d buy it, that would be fun to own. The first one was just covered in vines and such, it was beautiful. The second was a smaller house and very decayed.

I found it amazing how decayed the floor was. I thought it was nifty for sure, would of loved to of gone inside but it was very well boarded up and I didn’t want to raise suspicion with the neighbors.

Overall, it was a fun little day trip, wish I had a little more time there. There is a delicious fudge company on the main street that makes some really really good fudge. I highly recommend it. They also sold Henry Weinhard’s so I was sold on the place.

I wanted to write this because it felt so surreal.

I was on my way home from work and finally get into the photo enforcement zone (oh how I hate photo enforcement which is another story). I am heading towards cameras off of Highland or whatever so I check my speed…60MPH…so that’s good.

Two cars behind me decide that was way too slow, so they opt-in to pass me. One was an out of state car with some d-bag looking guy texting on his phone clearly oblivious to the cameras up ahead. The other car was a red car that decided to speed up too. I automatically thought, well I hope these two people know what’s ahead…their about to get screwed by a private company that enforces the law. Mmm, police state.

They realize, of course at the last moment, and decide to slam on their brakes. That’s the typical move amongst all drivers around here. See camera, slow down to below the speed limit, causing a ripple effect that annoys the crap out of me.

One of the cars got flashed, I believe it was the red car. You can never tell, but I hate it because it felt like it was me, even though I am pretty sure it wasn’t.

This is where the surreality kicks in. I pass through the photo zone and I notice there was a car in my blind spot so I look over as I always to and noticed something awesome. The driver was wearing a friggin’ bandana around his face. you know bandito style. We made eye contact and I knew what he was doing was pure awesome.

He ended up speeding off like a rebel into the sunset. I couldn’t catch up and give him a thumbs up because I didn’t want to miss my exit.
